Cancer outcomes improve when awareness leads to action, early detection leads to timely treatment, and individuals receive the support needed to navigate their care journey.
Through our flagship programs, OncoRaksha™ and OncoSahara™, MOC Cancer Care Foundation works to reduce the burden of cancer by promoting awareness, enabling early detection, and ensuring that individuals identified through screening are connected to the care and support they need.
“ We believe that screening is only the beginning. Our work extends beyond detection, helping individuals navigate diagnosis, access treatment, and receive support throughout their cancer care journey. ”
Prevention, awareness, and early detection — taking screening directly into communities to reach people before symptoms appear.
Patient navigation and support — walking alongside individuals from detection through treatment so no one is left behind after a finding.
Focused on prevention, awareness, and early detection OncoRaksha™ is MOCF’s prevention and early detection programme. In India, the majority of breast, cervical, and oral cancers, three of the most common and most preventable cancers, are still detected at advanced stages, when treatment is harder, costlier, and less likely to succeed.
OncoRaksha™ works to change this by taking awareness, screening, and prevention directly into communities, reaching people before symptoms appear, and ensuring that anyone flagged is guided onward to care.
Awareness is the first line of defence. Many cancers go undetected simply because people do not recognise the early signs or believe screening matters only when something already feels wrong.
Awareness built into every screening camp, so that education and action happen together.
Community awareness sessions on breast, cervical, and oral cancer, covering risk factors, early warning signs, and the value of timely screening, delivered in schools, colleges, workplaces, housing societies, and community groups.
Hands-on demonstrations of breast and oral self-examination, equipping individuals to detect changes early, in between screenings.
Addressing the fear, shame, and misinformation, particularly around women’s cancers, that cause people to delay seeking help.
Information, Education & Communication materials developed in local languages and designed for low-literacy, high-impact community settings.
Screening is where awareness becomes action. OncoRaksha™ brings clinical-grade screening to communities that would otherwise have to travel long distances or go without.
A structured referral and follow-up pathway, ensuring that every individual flagged during screening is connected to confirmatory diagnosis because a screening finding is only useful if it leads to action.
Camps with AI-assisted reading, bringing diagnostic-grade breast imaging directly into communities.
CBE conducted by trained healthcare personnel.
Pap smear and HPV testing delivered at camp sites.
Structured visual examination with on-site counselling so every participant understands their result and next steps.
Cervical cancer is among the most preventable of all cancers, yet remains a leading cause of cancer death among women in India. HPV vaccination prevents the infection responsible for the overwhelming majority of cases.
HPV vaccination drives focused on adolescent girls and eligible women, delivered in partnership with leading hospitals and institutions.
Vaccination is paired with family counselling and awareness, so that prevention is understood — not just administered.
Every individual identified through OncoRaksha™ enters MOCF's care continuum, where OncoSahara™ ensures they are not left to navigate what comes next alone.
Focused on ensuring that no individual is left behind after detection through: Navigate. Support. Treat.
OncoSahara™ is MOCF’s patient navigation and support programme. A screening result, or even a diagnosis, is only the beginning of a long and often overwhelming journey. For many, especially those from underserved communities, the path from an abnormal finding to actual treatment is where they get lost: in confusion about where to go, in the cost of care, and in the complexity of the system.
OncoSahara™ walks alongside individuals from detection through treatment, so that no one is left behind after a finding.
Access to treatment should not depend on a patient’s ability to decode the system. OncoSahara™ helps patients reach the right care, faster.
Navigation of government health schemes such as PM-JAY (Ayushman Bharat) and MJPJAY, helping patients unlock the entitlements and subsidised care they are eligible for.
Connection to quality treatment, including through MOC Cancer Care & Research Centre and partner facilities.
Facilitation of diagnostics, appointments, and timely initiation of treatment — removing the administrative burden from patients.
Emotional and psychosocial support for patients and families throughout the treatment journey.
For many families, a cancer diagnosis is also a financial crisis. OncoSahara™ helps ensure that cost is not the reason treatment stops.
Direct financial assistance for eligible patients and paediatric cases facing high treatment costs.
Partnerships with foundations and support organisations to extend the reach and impact of available funds.
Guidance in combining scheme entitlements, institutional support, and assistance funds to reduce the out-of-pocket burden on families.
Together, OncoRaksha™ and OncoSahara™ form one continuous journey — awareness to early detection, treatment, and support, so that more people are reached in time and no one walks the cancer journey alone.
